Our Cocker Spaniels. They embody all the
great qualities found in a wonderful cocker spaniel.
"The
Cocker Spaniel is the smallest member of the Sporting Group. He has a
sturdy, compact body...He is a dog capable of considerable speed, combined
with great endurance. Above all, he must be free and merry, sound, well
balanced throughout and in action show a keen inclination to work."
That's our Lacey. She is very merry, she will wear you out playing
with her toys. To Lacey, love is spelled "T-O-Y". She digs into her
toy box looking for the exact toy she knows she wants to play with at that
time. She is so cute watching her run around and jump. Be
careful, she will boink (hit you with her nose) and then kiss you. One
of the funniest things is if one of us is outside watering she will jump at
the glass door or window wanting to get to the water. If you spray the
window she jumps at the water being sprayed from the other side of the
window and tries to bite at the water...oh well, we have to wash the
windows..but it's so funny we can't resist. She is also a very sweet
princess who just loves her people and has to be with us as much as is
possible. |

These 2 pictures are probably some of my
favorites. She had only been home with us a few days. She has
such a pretty profile.Lacey was born 3/1999.. |

As a pup, Lacey would ride on the hay in the feed cart while we fed horses.
(This is not very good quality as it's a scanned pic of a Polaroid.) |

Since
Lacey is black and white I thought I should introduce her to our black and
white Paint Horse. As you can see, she was a bit nervous...she had
never seen such a big "dog".Lacey's registered
name is "Painted Lacey"..a play on words for "a painted lady" because of her
beautiful coloring and because we raise Paint Horses. |

"Mom, I'd rather not". Now when given the chance she runs all over.
She loves the trimmings from the horses hoofs. |

The
picture in the tent is Lacey, summer 2002, when we were camping...She would
just decide she was going to put herself in bed. It was pretty funny,
every night she would do this. I wish I had a picture of her one night
she was at the foot of the bed totally asleep on her back with all 4 legs in
the air, snoring. I guess she felt very
safe. :-) Lacey even went to the rodeo with us and sat on Sharon's lap
and watched everything. |

Lacey
was very much a "river dog" on our vacation to the Trinity
River. She loved the river..we were totally amazed at how she took to
the water. As we would walk to the river the closer we got the harder
she would pull to get to the river. She loved chasing rocks we would
throw in the water and then the resulting water splash. |
 |

The picture above on the left cracks us up..she looks
like she doesn't have legs. That one picture was taken July 2003.
Lacey was very safe at all times...she was on a long line
leash. |
Lacey just had
to go out and meet "dad", when he came back from the middle of the river
where he had been fishing.

Left, Lacey spelling
love, "t-o-y". The octopus makes several "interesting" noises so it's a
favorite, well..sort of..(notice the red ball behind her..she has toy box
full of toys)
Right, Lacey was a
willing subject for my first attempt in using our new digital camera. |

Lacey's favorite toy
is her monkey.
This isn't just any
monkey, this is a launching screaming monkey. It's arms have rubber
bands that allow you to launch it across the room and while it's flying
through the room it is screaming like a monkey. It makes her
absolutely crazy.
Here's Ed and her
playing with the monkey. Click on the picture to the right to see the play in
action.
