Red's 1st Saddle

Red's a bit wholly with his winter coat and a bit dirty after our recent rain storms but it was a beautiful day and time for 'saddle school'.  Notice how he wants to be Ed's buddy.

"Red", born 3/2/03. Red Dun Colt out of our Gruella Dun Quarter Horse Mare, Mercy.  This colt is growing and will be stocky.  He is a big love!  He will make someone a wonderful "best friend". 

A great all around prospect.  Both Sire and Dam will go all day without tiring on the trail.  You can see by the pictures that he is not bashful and was even enjoying a belly rub.  This foal's dam has her own web page, click on Mercy to see her page and to learn more about Duns and their "workaholic" breeding.

Red has the classic easy going attitude of a Dun.

Here Ed is handling Red so he won't be "cinchy". With this kind of handling he will be ready for the the saddle when it comes time.

We just couldn't resist sharing this picture.  Here's Red at just a few days old, isn't he cute?  Since this was Mercy's first foal he was a little guy, but it has taken him no time to catch up.
