"Mike"

Mike is an awesome, one in a million horse. He has a great mind and attitude. Not only is he beautiful but athletic and the kindest most gentle horse on our ranch....and he's a stallion! As soon as Ed's knee recovers you will find Mike and Ed learning how to rope and play with the cows. Mike, born 1999, is a beautiful dark liver chestnut with a gorgeous flaxen mane and tail, one of the most beautiful we've seen. Check out his forelock, have you seen a Quarter Horse with a forelock like that? |

See Mike's first foal. The best word to describe him is "cute".

These 3 reining training pictures were taken Feb 16, 2004. Mike Berg of "Berg Performance Horses" is riding Mike.
Mike was named after Michael the greatest of the archangels of God who at times was referred to as a "Prince". Michael was also considered a "warrior for God" as he fought many heavenly battles. We thought this was an appropriate name for a stallion.

Mike showing off Sharon's new custom made Hope Saddle at Christmas 2002. (If you click on the saddle link you will see Sharon's saddle being modeled by the saddle makers horse.) Sharon was drawn to the Hope Saddle at an Expo we attended. She liked the "old fashioned" plantation look to it. We found out a lot more about this saddle and the comfort and movement it gives the horse and rider. It's not only extremely functional but it's a work of art and comfortable! The saddlemaker and his wife, Joe and Cindy, have become good friends of ours. It's so neat how you get to know the greatest people!

These 2 pictures were taken May 2003. Believe it or not Mike is not barned or blanketed, he has a simple overhead shelter and we had just came out of a cold wet winter (by S. CA standards). He is such a beautiful horse. Mike was having a great time, he looked like he could have ran all day. |
