Jake

Jake loves to "play with the cows", team sorting and penning...he's won a buckle!

1991 Overo Stallion, 15.1 hands.

Good mind, super conformation and great personality.  Jake breeds brain, beauty, willingness, athleticism, performance and kindness into his foals.  He's so easy going he doesn't mind little girls riding him or "crazy cowboys" standing on him.

Jake was purchased as a young weanling. Ed has trained him for penning, sorting, trails, shows and all around good manners.

Pictures are not professional pictures...come on out and visit Jake in person.

Jake has very strong powerful legs and has never experienced injury or illness.

Jake and Ed love going on the trails where Jake is so level headed and calm he's been mistaken for a gelding.

This is an amazing young woman, Essi, from Finland. She has incredible passion for horses and wanted to learn Natural Horsemanship so she was invited to come out to our place for a couple of days. What's so amazing is that she had been seriously mauled by a stallion, she was in the hospital, she lost part of a finger and had severe bites that left horrible scars.  Yet, she is still passionate about horses.  We used Jake to help her gain confidence with a stallion...he's that calm that we would trust him to do the job.  As you can see his head is nice and low and his taking good care of his charge.

Notice his ears, he's paying very close attention to his rider, a 10 yr old girl who's feet can't even reach the stirrups.

Notice in the picture above that Ed is riding Jake bareback, in a rope halter and a lead rope.

Ed and Jake are at a "Boy's and Girls" Summer Camp where Ed is teaching a lesson about Trust and Respect.  He's using Jake as an illustration that when you show your horse trust and respect he gives it back, just like with people, it's not "owed" you, you must earn it.

...we think our filly (by Jake) is absolutely gorgeous and wonderful!...Again we can't express how wonderful the experience of having a foal has been.  You treated us very kindly...we have a beautiful filly with great conformation, she seems very athletic and has a good mind.  Who could ask for more?...She has been a joy to work with and learn from - it appears she got a "think - it - through" mentality from her sire in addition to a nice, stocky build."
